Get Ready To Tender (GVS Briefing Session)

Do you want to get your organisation ready for tendering? Want to learn the basics? Then come along to our briefing session!

At the end of the session, you will be able to:

  • improve your understanding of the differences between grants and contracts
  • increase your knowledge in the area of tendering
  • provide guidance about the tendering process
  • explore the potential of joint working when considering public service delivery

This session will be valuable to Trustees, Managers, Staff and Volunteers of organisations who may be considering tendering for the first time and want to get themselves “up to speed”.

4th GDPR Briefing Session organised in the Vale

Thursday, February 15th 2018 – 2pm to 4pm
Barry Community Enterprise Centre, Skomer Road, BARRY CF62 9DA

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is due to come into force on 25 May 2018. The new legislation impacts on all aspects of voluntary sector activity from marketing to fundraising, from HR to IT, and all organisations need to take steps to prepare.

This this half-day briefing session will:

  • Give an overview of the new concepts and approaches in the GDPR
  • Outline the legal bases for processing personal data and the conditions for getting consent from individuals
  • Discuss what must be included in privacy notices and when they must be issued
  • Review the rights of individuals under the GDPR, including changes to data subject access requests
  • Discuss the new obligations on data processors and the requirements for third-party contact

By the end of the session, you will have a solid overview of all of the above and be in a better position to prepare for the changes ahead.

Safeguarding under the Act (GVS Briefing Session)

If you, or your organisation, works with Children or Vulnerable Adults, this briefing session is for you.

This Briefing Session will explore what the Social Services and Well-Being (Wales) Act says about safeguarding and what it means for Third Sector providers. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions to the Safeguarding Experts.
